What You Don’t Know About Beauty Products Might Make You Cringe
When it comes to health, it doesn’t just start and end with food. We use lotion, sunscreen, and different beauty products in our home. A few years ago, after discovering toxins in sunscreen, I began thinking about every product we put on our skin and wondering if they too were toxic.
Our skin is one of the most important organs and serves as a barrier for our body. Things that are absorbed by the skin are directly put into the blood stream. Looking at what my clients put on their skin is sometimes the first place we start to help them heal or live healthier.
Today, I would like to address beauty products by introducing Beautycounter!! A friend of mine, Jamie Ivey, invited me to hear our friend Noelle Otts as she shared about this new company that was going to set a new standard for beauty products!
Did you know that the United States has not passed a federal law to regulate the ingredients used in personal care products since 1938? Have you heard hat only about 10% of the 10,000 chemicalscommonly found in personal care products have safety data? Or that the European Union has spent the past two decades banning or restricting more than 1,300 ingredients, the US has only banned 11 to date?
We have got to think differently when it comes to our skin products! So I wanted to bring Beautycounter to your front door and introduce you to moms and women just like me and you, in this industry, who are making a difference by putting safe products into the hands of everyone!
I personally asked Noelle a few questions, check them out!
1. Noelle, What made you sign up to be a consultant with Beautycounter?
I was a body care buyer for Whole Foods Market for 4 years and have always been passionate about the safety of what we put on our skin. When I heard about Beautycounters mission, I felt that it aligned with what I believe and the products are fantastic!
2. Why is it important that we think about what we put on our skin?
Our skin is our largest organ, absorbing more that 60% of what we put on it. I feel that right now we are very aware of the food we eat and that next is for a raised awareness of the safeties of our skincare.
3. Noelle, Can you share what kids products you carry?
4. What are your favorite skin and beauty products you recommend to women?
I just can not say enough about our lustro face oil. It has truly changed the dynamic of my skin. There are so many beneficial aspects of adding healthy balanced oils to your skin regime.
5. Noelle, what products would you encourage people to start with?
Aren’t you thankful for people like Gregg and her team?
You will find that the products may be more expensive than your walmart purchases, but I want to strongly argue that they are WORTH more! The toxins in the cheap products DO MATTER. Making investments in our health MATTERS and is worth it in the long marathon of life.
When I stopped buying all of the cheap products and found 1 Beautycounter oil to replace it, the cost difference wasn’t that much. Don’t be fooled, move towards changing your beauty products. Start by replacing one thing! Make a purchase every other month to replace your products slowly. My favorite item is the Lipstick! I never leave home without it! We also love the Body oil and the Body scrub!
Beautycounter is a company that gets me so excited! It takes many people to move towards change and Gregg and her team players like Noelle Otts are those people! Another thing I love about them is that they are so personal and here to help us! Purchase your Beautycounter today!
