Soma’s 6 Healthy Habits To Live By Every Day

Over the years of learning to incorporate health into my everyday life, I have found that there are 6 basic habits that will help you physically move towards your goals. In my 6 month program, we go over each of these to enhance the experience of making changes one step at a time.

1. Hydration

Hydrating your body is one of the most important things you can do. Many experts believe that hydration is the key to your health. Drinking enough clean water each day helps support your cells for optimal function. Most humans require 50% of their body weight in ounces of water each day. In my program you will understand why hydration is so important and what steps are necessary for you to begin hydrating your body.

2. Cooking

Preparing food slows us down and brings us into community with others. I believe cooking is not just an action we do to get food, but an art and science that can bring vitality to our lives. In America, we have been taught that outsourcing our cooking will help us move faster and do more. But the act of cooking brings nutrients, thoughtful awareness and gratitude that are important factors to our health. Cooking food can start anywhere and will help you slow down, be more intentional and live outside of the race for more. With my program you will be able to understand both the art and science of cooking one step at a time.

3. Meal Planning

Planning for your food and cooking takes time but is so important in identifying nutrition as priority for your health. Taking simple tools and small amounts of moments in your day, you can prepare in small or big ways for daily rhythms of feasting and living with the joy of nutritious meals. Through my program, I start you where you are at and set no expectations as to what this looks like. I will help you discover what is best for you and your lifestyle and help lead you away from barriers and into strategies that will accomplish the rhythms you need.

4. Movement

In my program, I focus on movement rather than exercise. I believe that movement looks different for each person and help you discover what is best for you. Movement includes, stretching, strength training and key functions that help your individual needs in your body.

5. Sleep

Sleep has been hijacked in the pace of our society. In my program, we help you get back to the basic need of rest. So many of your body’s functions happen when you are asleep. I will help you rediscover the gift of sleep, help you identify the next steps to getting there and walk with you as you identify the best strategies for your daily rhythms. Sleep will become your new best friend and give so much life and ability to your daily functions.

6. Mindfulness

Many of us walk around “asleep” when it comes to your awareness of our health. My program helps take you down to the roots of why you do what you do and help you focus on core beliefs that drive your everyday habits. I will help you see the motivations that drive you each day and help you to identify what changes need to be made in order to reach the transformation you desire ahead. Being mindful about the roots of your beliefs will bring new health to your whole life.
