Soma Pecan Pralines

My kids and I discovered these this summer as we tried to create a carmel candy without all the sugar. Hope you enjoy them! 

Servings 6 pieces


  • 1/2 Cup Real Butter Kerrygold is our favorite
  • 2 TBS Coconut Sugar
  • 3 TBS Xylitol
  • 1/2 Cup Pecan Pieces


  1. In a small pan, bring the butter to a simmering boil at medium heat.

  2. Add coconut sugar and xylitol and stir continually until it comes to a boil.

  3. Reduce your heat to low and let it boil into a carmel consistency. 

  4. Add pecan pieces and stir covering all pecans. 

  5. Once the mixture reaches a boil again, turn off the burner. 

  6. Pour carmel pecan mixture into cupcake wrappers and place in the freezer for 30 mins. (I use a muffin tin and cupcake parchment paper wraps)

  7. Enjoy! Be sure to keep stored in the freezer for candy texture or the fridge for a more gooey consistency.
