Soma Holiday Sugar Cookies

I grew up making sugar cookies with my mom and grandmother. My aunt made the best sugar cookies I have ever eaten! Sugar cookies are a fun holiday surprise for all. I wanted to keep that tradition going but have ingredients that would contribute to my kids health and help those in my family who can’t have traditional ingredients of sugar cookies. Hope you enjoy a healthier spin to sugar cookies!

Holiday Sugar Cookies


  • 2 1/2 Cup Almond Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Raw Honey
  • 1 Organic Pasture-raised Egg
  • 2 tsp Coconut Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan Salt
  • 1 Tbs Coconut Flour for dusting if using cookie cutters
  • 1 Tbs Xylitol For sprinkling on top or can use sugar of choice


  1. Mix the almond flour, honey, egg, coconut oil, vanilla, baking soda and salt in a food processor until it reaches a dough consistency.

  2. Chill dough for 20 mins. 

  3. When you are ready to make cookies, Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

  4. Remove from the fridge and roll out between 2 pieces of parchment paper until about 1/4 inch thick. 

  5. Dust with some coconut flour, dip cookie cutter into coconut flour and then create your shapes to bake. 

  6. Bake cookies on parchment paper for 8-10 mins. 

  7. Let cool for 5 minutes and sprinkle with xylitol. Enjoy!
