Simple Homemade Turmeric Paste For Common Skin Irritations

Turmeric has been used for over 4000 years. It has been used to aid the body through pain, depression, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, IBS and many cancers.

Many cultures use turmeric as a cooking spice but in the last few years so much research has come out regarding its medicinal uses.  Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties that it has been used for thousands of years to treat skin conditions and heal wounds.

The skin is our largest organ and helps to protect our internal body and regulate body temperature. It also houses beneficial microorganisms to keep the body healthy.

Eczema and other skin irritations are becoming a very common problem among young children and adults. Many over the counter creams and steroids contain toxins and only temporarily adjust the problem. These types of treatments do not get to the root issue and can often suppress your immune system from healing.

Many are turning to holistic alternatives to treat skin issues. All skin irritations are almost always signaling you that there is a problem with the gut. Working with health professionals to get to the root issues of skin problems is key.

I want to share a turmeric paste recipe that can help aid the body and help heal inflammatory issues on the skin as you focus in on gut issues in fully healing your body. Having 4 kids gives me lots of opportunities to treat scrapes, bites, burns or skin flare ups. This paste is great for a homemade acne treatment as well. (Although if continual acne problems, see health professional for full direction to healing)

This paste has been amazing for my family and friends! Especially if your kids have chickenpox’s or shingles. Those conditions are viral infections and the turmeric paste works with the body to keep it from spreading and help aid the immune system in fighting and healing the skin quickly.

This paste is super easy to make right when you need it or you can make up a batch to store in a cool, dry place for a month. It will stain, so use a little bit at a time and prepare to keep the stain off of clothes. This paste is well worth the use before moving to over the counter meds or steroids.

If you need help finding a health professional to help you with severe or continual skin issues, contact me and I am happy to help! Enjoy!
