12 Foods to Choose Organic

As you set out for produce, you may assume that organic is the best way. But what if your budget doesn’t always allow? Which foods are best to choose to put more money towards? Did you know that some foods are more contaminated with pesticides than others?

Even though buying organic is important, I understand that when you are to stay within a budget, you may not be able to purchase everything organic.

Did you know that non-organic farmers spray 300 lbs of pesticides on each acre of strawberry patches? There have been found over 17 different pesticides on a single strawberry. Strawberries and other berries are some of the most contaminated foods offered in the stores.

This is why choosing organic berries is important. You may not can eat them all year, but the fresh ones in season are well worth the wait!

The Environmental Working Group has help us determine the most contaminated foods. These are the most important foods to purchase organic so that you can avoid unnecessary toxins from the pesty pesticides.

When you purchase them in season, you will find that the price between organic and non-organic is not the big of a leap. However, it will make all the difference in your health! Use this list as a guide as to which foods to purchase organic.
