10 Thanksgiving Real Food Recipes You’ll Feel Good About
I can’t believe that thanksgiving is 2 weeks away! I love cooking for people and delight in having guests in our home.
Often, people will choose thanksgiving and christmas as the 2 holidays they will eat “bad” and then guilt themselves into a diet come January after the new year. But aren’t you tired of this rhythm?
A few years ago I was so irritated about this in my own life. I asked the question, “Can I make a thanksgiving meal that is both delicious and good for you?” The answer to this question is YES, you can!
Today, we try to hold the same traditions but without the real food lifestyle. Now you can buy everything in a box to quickly count as a “Thanksgiving meal”.
I am not interested in eating fake food this thanksgiving and so I am led back to the farm and the kitchen. I have 7 in my house, work full time and have life outside of both. I understand how hard it can be, but it is not impossible.
Eating real food is so important and to do this, you have to go back to the farm and the kitchen. But it is worth it! Both sets of my grandparents are still alive in their late 80’s and they continually remind me that tradition is not something you quickly prepare, but that you nurture, cultivate and harvest within every season of life.
I am thankful for these lessons and now gladly keep going back to the farm and the kitchen to prepare real food for my family. Here are 10 recipes for breakfast, appetizers, dinner and dessert to help you think about your holiday this year and prepare for a real food feast! Enjoy!
